Lancaster Bombers play nationwide in the BUAFL(www.BUAFL.net), and are one of the larger AU clubs. All are welcome at the club, experience is not essential and full training is provided with our 6 qualified coaches on hand to offer support and guidance.

We currently train twice a week, and play all our games on sundays, we're currently in the Northern Central Divison, playing teams from Yorkshire, North West and parts of the Midlands. We play 4 home games and 4 away games, and if our record is good enough, we'll also play in the playoffs(knockouts). We also play annually against rivals York in the Roses competition.

All American Football Kit is provided by the club this includes, Helmet, shoulder pads, leg protection and playing kit.

The Bombers have an amazing social side, some would argue better than the playing at times, with major socials, such as the man auction, christmas meal, end of season meal, alumni weekend, Week 1 beerpong tourament and of course the superbowl. We also have close ties to the Universtity cheerleading squad and often have social events with them throughout the year.

The Bombers are aiming to reach the playoffs once again this year, and look to openly develop rookies who are keen, committed and competitive. If you want to try something new and are bored of the usually UK sports and fancy challenging your body and mind, or have always wanted to kit up, or have watched the NFL on tv and what to give it a go. Search for the Lancaster Bombers on Facebook or e mail the address above, or come find us at Freshers Fair

  • Table Tennis

    Website http://tabletennis.lusu.co.uk/
    Email luttc@hotmail.co.uk

LUTTC play in the British Universities league and also in the Lancaster, Morecambe and District Table Tennis League. Table tennis at the University is going from strength to strength after a hugely successful year where our Men’s 1st team won not only the local Lancaster and Morecambe league but also the BUCS Northern 2A division. LUTTC Men's 1st team will be competing against some of the top men’s northern University Table Tennis teams in the 2009/10 season in the Northern 1A division.

However whilst BUCS is suitable for our more experienced players, the local league gives our members chance to compete at any level in our 3 teams and our practice sessions allow members to play for recreation. LUTTC has three practices a week of 2 hours each; one for advanced players, one for novices and improvers and one general match night available to everyone. Due to the number of fixtures we have to fulfil we are always looking for new members and therefore dedication and participation are just as valuable as ability. Therefore we are not only looking for talented players but also those who have a passion for the sport and are looking to improve and participate in our practice sessions and fixtures.

Apart from playing table tennis the club is a great place to socialise and meet new people and hopefully friends who also enjoy playing the same sport. If you’re interested in joining the club then please attend one of our trials at 7pm either on Tuesday the 6th of October or Thursday the 8th of October at the Sports Centre Gallery or alternatively pick up a leaflet at Fresher’s Fair on Thursday the 1st of October.
