American Football
Website http://www.lancs.ac.uk/socs/bombers/
Email bombers@lancaster.ac.ukLancaster Bombers play nationwide in the BUAFL(www.BUAFL.net), and are one of the larger AU clubs. All are welcome at the club, experience is not essential and full training is provided with our 6 qualified coaches on hand to offer support and guidance.
We currently train twice a week, and play all our games on sundays, we're currently in the Northern Central Divison, playing teams from Yorkshire, North West and parts of the Midlands. We play 4 home games and 4 away games, and if our record is good enough, we'll also play in the playoffs(knockouts). This year will be our first year at Roses, playing the York Centurions.
All American Football Kit is provided by the club this includes, Helmet, shoulder pads, leg protection and playing kit.
The Bombers have an amazing social side, some would argue better than the playing at times, with major socials, such as the man auction, christmas meal, end of season meal, alumni weekend, Week 1 beerpong tourament and of course the superbowl. We also have close ties to the Universtity cheerleading squad and often have social events with them throughout the year.
The Bombers are aiming to reach the playoffs once again this year, and look to openly develop rookies who are keen, committed and competitive. If you want to try something new and are bored of the usually UK sports and fancy challenging your body and mind, or have always wanted to kit up, or have watched the NFL on tv and what to give it a go. Search for the Lancaster Bombers on Facebook or e mail the address above, or come find us at Freshers Fair

Email luttc@hotmail.co.ukLUTTC play in the BUCS league (British Universities and Colleges Sport) and also in the LM&DTTL (Lancaster, Morecambe and District Table Tennis League). After an undefeated win of the BUCS Nothern 2A division in the 2008/09 season, LUTTC Men's 1st's will be competing against some of the top mens northern university Table Tennis teams in the 2009/10 season in the Northern 1A division.
Whilst BUCS is reserved for our elite players, the LM&DTTL gives our members chance to compete at any level in our of our 3 teams who are always looking to win their respective divisions.
LUTTC train twice a week per team divided between three 2 hour sessions. Membership to LUTTC is competitive, with well over 100 sign ups every year at Freshers Fair, we sadly can only take on 30, but this does not mean we don't take on beginners. When scouting for our C-team we look for potential as well as talent, in the last few years we have had great success in training up complete beginners to become advanced players after their time at University. All we ask for is enthusiasm!
